The Serpent’s Secret

  • Description: Secluded Major Anderdale has ceased to be a tranquil haven; it has transformed into a Tuan-ti-malison, affecting the surrounding townsfolk. Legends speak of an enchanted Serpent’s Amulet that must be sought at the heart of Major Anderdale to bind the Tuan-ti-malison back to its dormant state, restoring peace to the region and its people.

    • Retrieve the ancient Orbs of Elixir from the caverns of the Snake Sentinel clan for the wise mage Malphus at the outskirts of the Talvale Forest.

    The gentle land of Talvale Forest is under threat of destruction as the elemental balance is disrupted by the earth-shaking folly of misplaced trust. With the underlying cause being traced back to the Snake Sentinel clan – the ancient custodians of the Orbs of Elixir – the wizard Malphus urges heroes to retrieve the sacred Orbs once more to restore the delicate harmony. The Orbs are hidden within the dark caverns deep under the meandering Talvale River, where danger lurks within the damp. The heroes’ journey shall tread through treacherous mountains, verdant forests, and a serpent’s lair in order to retrieve the Serpent’s Secret.

    Welcome valiant adventurers, I have a task that beckons your brave hearts! The land of Talvale Forest is being ravaged, its delicate harmony teetering on the brink. The Oracle Malphus, at the edges of the forest, believes he has found the root of this turmoil – the misplaced sacred Orbs of Elixir currently resting with the Snake Sentinel clan. Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to journey through treacherous terrain, defeat dangers that lie in wait, retrieve the Orbs of Elixir and restore the balance within Talvale Forest!

    Retrieve the ancient Orbs of Elixir from the caverns of the Snake Sentinel clan.

    Tucked within flickering shadows and whispering leaves, the Talvale Forest is the starting point of the adventure. The heroes shall brave treacherous mountains, vibrant forests, and eventually step foot into the clandestine caverns of the Snake Sentinel clan. It is here that the Orbs of Elixir are said to be hidden.

Though blind, Malphus is gifted with visions of past and future, remnants of his countless conversations with wizards long gone, this realm and others.
    • Role: The quest giver and information source for mishaps around Talvale forest.
    • His Secret: Malphus derives his powers solely from an anointing oil his mentor, the Mystic Mabel, bequeathed to him during her death. Mabel had promised to meet him in death, and her no-show is what haunts Malphus to this day.
    • Story Involvement: Malphus will aid the heroes is deciphering the lands around the Talvale Forest as well as insight into the Snake Sentinel Clan. He shall offer words of motivation and uplift during the journey.
